68AD -The Garage Rock Band

WE HAVE A NEW SITE...AS OF 4/14/08

68AD is a fierce new Rock and Roll band born out of the proflific songwriting and hard times of lead singer and guitarist Archie (aka Art and Rusty). His brother Mike and lifelong friend John provided much needed encouragement and artistic contributions early in 2007 and, before anyone knew what was happening, a potentially import new musical force sprung into being.

With over 100 original songs including a bona-fide Rock Opera entitled "Bread and Circuses" - the band is poised to make their first live sweep across the great state of New Jersey and the Tri-State area.

Their next stop will be the recording studio - somewhere near the end of 2008 (we hope).

Melding catchy pop melodies with a wall of guitar noise and righteous social commentary, this band is in many ways a welcome throwback to the late 70's punk and early 80's New Wave and Hardcore movements. Imagine Neil Young's LP "Live Rust" played at 45RPM (that's a vinyl reference Junior), splashed with a dose of Ramones, Husker Du and "Highway 61" era Dylan, and you might get some idea of the heat and velocity they generate.

Just as importantly, this is a band with actual THINGS TO SAY, about ACTUAL human situations and the difficult times in which we live. Some of their songs barely cross the two minute mark, but are so rich with emotion and poetic insuniation, you could almost write a book about each one. I can barely think of a band working today that can pack so much thought and substance into such short bursts of rock ecstasy. 68AD...Remember the name...and look for them at a seedy dive near you.
